Driving license requirements for hiring a car in Cyprus
It is essential that you have a full valid driving license to hire a car in Cyprus. All providers will require also that you’ve held this license for at least 1 year.
If your license was issued outside of Europe, you may also need to obtain an IDP, also called an international driving permit to present upon collection. If you do need an IDP you still need to bring your normal driving license.
Security deposit requirements for car hire in Cyprus
Almost all car hire providers in Cyprus will require that a security deposit is left when you collect the car. A security deposit will need to be left on a valid credit card in the name of the main driver. These security deposits can be a wide variety of amounts ranging from 300 Euros to 2000 Euros. How old do I have to be to hire a car in Cyprus?
Most car hire providers we work with across Cyprus require that you be at least 21 years old at the time of collection. If you need to hire a car and you won’t be 21 at the time of collection, give our reservations team a call and we’ll try our best to help.
Minimum age requirements also vary between providers with some providers requiring that you be at least 25 to hire, it’s always best to double-check the specific requirements for your provider while booking to make sure you won’t leave disappointed at the desk.
If you’re over the age of 74 it’s also a good idea to check the upper age requirements of the provider you’re booking with. Some providers have different requirements If you’re over the age of 74.

If it is before your scheduled pick-up time. Go Cars Now cannot guarantee that you can pick up your rental car early. In most cases, however, if you are just picking your car up a few hours early on your scheduled time, car rental company will do their best to accommodate you if cars are available.
